As a global citizen, who has lived and worked on 4 continents, and speaks 4 languages, Messina fully understands what’s important for global brands in the 21st Century. Over her 26+ years of working with some of the most world’s most recognizable brands, the global brand space has changed, and Messina is an authentic leader who helped these brands bridge that gap. Messina has a leadership style that understands the spirit of the teams and the privilege of leadership, enabling her to have an impact that continues long after she has left a role.

Most recently having served as Uber’s first-ever Chief Marketing Officer, Messina focused on standing up Uber’s first global marketing organization, and building a world class marketing network, with the mission of helping the company define a strong brand in the hearts and minds of the consumers, drivers and communities it serves.

Prior to joining Uber, Messina was the Global Chief Marketing Officer of Beam Suntory, where she drove the company’s global brand development, product innovation, research and development and consumer insights for Beam Suntory’s world-class portfolio of brands – including Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark and its Japanese Whisky, Gin and Vodka Portfolio.

Messina previously spent 22 years at The Coca-Cola Company starting in Atlanta before expanding her career in Chile, Australia, France and then ultimately back in Atlanta. During her more than two decades at Coca-Cola, Rebecca held numerous roles of increasing responsibility and leadership across functions from strategy to communications and global brands to local brands. Most notably Messina lead the Company in defining and capturing “The Coca-Cola Way of Marketing’, leaving a legacy for generations of future marketers, as well as, expanding it growth footprint by leading its portfolio of high growth, future focused brands in its internal incubator.

Currently a Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company, Messina also currently serves on the Global Board of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), and on the advisory board of various emerging brands.
