As an Aircraft Commander Captain Rahmani flew countless missions as a direct support element to combat operations in Afghanistan.
She is an activist inspiring women to fly. In recognition of her courage and accomplishments, the US State Department presented Captain Rahmani with the International Women of Courage Award in 2015. Best-selling co-author of the book Open Skies: My Life as Afghanistan’s First Female Pilot.
Captain Rahmani never gave up. In the face of fear, she found courage and became a role model for young women.
Today, Rahmani is flying for a private jet charter firm. Captain Rahmani helps others realize their aviation dreams and to believe giving up is the birth of regrets. Her dreams took her to the sky where she belongs.
Captain Rahmani faced many challenges on her journey to becoming a pilot. She was the target of death threats from the Taliban, and she was also discriminated against by her male colleagues in the Afghan Air Force. But she never gave up on her dream. She was determined to prove that women could be just as capable as men in the cockpit. She continued to fly her missions, and she inspired other women to follow in her footsteps and fought for gender equality in her country. Niloofar teaches the audience that anything is possible, no matter the challenges we face. She is a true hero, and her story is a testament to the power of dreams.
