Before entering the world of broadcasting, Jason Garrett was the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys (2011-2019), where he won three division titles, was named Associated Press Coach of the Year in 2016 and compiled an 85-67 (559) regular-season record, good for the second-most wins for a Head Coach in franchise history. Garrett began his coaching career as the Quarterbacks Coach for the Miami Dolphins under Nick Saban and served as the Offensive Coordinator for both the Cowboys and New York Giants.
Garrett graduated from Princeton University in 1989 and was the Ivy League Player of the Year in 1988.
Garrett went on to have a 14-year NFL playing career with the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints. He won three Super Bowl titles with the Cowboys in 1992, 1993 and 1995, and was a member of the NFC Champion Giants in 2000.
Off the field, Garrett and his wife Brill established Jason Garrett Starfish Charities in 1997. The principal goal of the foundation is to enrich the lives of the youth by holding a football camp and leadership forum at Princeton University each June. The foundation has started reading programs and established The Jason Garrett Starfish Leadership Academy in 2022.
Currently, Garrett serves as a studio analyst for NBC Sports' Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports, and a game analyst for NBC Sports' coverage of Notre Dame Football.
