Dr. Andy Baker brings a fresh, young perspective to U.S. national security along with a wealth of policy experience, from the front lines of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan to negotiations with Russia and Iran. As a key driving force behind President Trump’s national security process, Andy oversaw crisis prevention and management in dozens of countries, pushed deals to conclusion from Gaza to Armenia, and supported transformational U.S. policies on everything from drones to critical minerals to Artificial Intelligence. He has a deep, intuitive grasp of our changing world.

Dr. Andy Baker is the only person ever to have served concurrently as Deputy National Security Advisor and National Security Advisor to the Vice President. In these two positions, Andy worked closely with JD Vance and Marco Rubio, two of the Trump Administration’s most important national security officials. He played a key role in virtually every national security decision and policy, including trade and tariffs, science and technology, reforms at the Departments of State and War, rebuilding the defense industrial base and critical national supply chains, as well as efforts to bring wars to an end from Thailand and Cambodia to Burma to India and Pakistan to Armenia and Azerbaijan. A historian by training, Andy brings a deep knowledge of the British Empire and the twentieth century to bear in making sense of current events. He witnessed firsthand the successes and the failures of the Global War on Terror as a Foreign Service Officer, an experience which left him determined to reform American foreign and security policy. Over the past two years, Andy led efforts to realign the United States geostrategically and geoeconomically to confront tectonic changes in global order and the accelerating evolution of technology.
