In 1979, with little more than an unconventional idea, Harry Rhoads co-founded Washington Speakers Bureau with friends Bernie and Paula Swain. Few could have imagined that the company would grow into a pioneering force in the speaking industry or that nearly half a century later, Harry would remain one of its most respected voices.
Throughout his career, Harry has challenged the industry to innovate, adapt, and uphold the highest standards of service and integrity. Under his leadership, WSB built a roster that has included three U.S. Presidents, seven British Prime Ministers, five U.S. Secretaries of State, and many of the most influential leaders, innovators, and voices of our time.
As a founding member of the V Foundation for Cancer Research Board of Directors, Harry has served the organization since its inception. As a four-time cancer survivor, the mission of the āVā holds personal significance. He has helped the foundation raise more than $458 million to advance research and breakthroughs that save lives.
Harry graduated from DePauw University, where he developed a passion for communication as the campus sports broadcaster. Outside of work, he can often be found on the golf course or spending time with his two daughters and grandchildren.
