I wanted to reach out on behalf of all of us at Automotive News to thank Amy Cuddy for a fantastic Automotive News Leading Women Conference. It was an outstanding event, with a sold-out, interested and engaged audience that really enjoyed her presentation. Words that kept popping up in relation to her and her presentation in our survey responses were “authentic,” “sincere,” “engaging,” and “real.” She knocked it out of the park. And the book signing afterwards was a huge success!

You will learn simple techniques to complete inner transformation, harness the power of presence and perform at the highest levels of confidence.

How to Lead with Confidence and Be More Influential

From the classroom to the boardroom, nonverbal behavior directly impacts the levels of trustworthiness and strength we present to others—and to ourselves—in our daily interactions. MBA professor of influence, persuasion, leadership and decision-making at the esteemed Harvard Business School, best-selling author Amy Cuddy shares the groundbreaking and compelling research for which she has garnered national acclaim to teach audiences how to become more influential in their personal and professional lives. Explaining how nonverbal behavior and snap judgments influence people, Cuddy examines how leaders can use this cutting-edge science to prepare the brain for high-stakes situations, perform at their best and empower others to do the same.

Amy Cuddy, Harvard social psychologist, best-selling author, and speaker, is an expert on the behavioral science of power, presence, purpose, and prejudice. A researcher and lecturer on Psychology at Harvard University, Amy earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree from Princeton University in 2005, then joined the faculty of Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management for two years and Harvard Business School for nine years, where she continues to teach in executive education programs. Her 2015 book, Presence: Bringing Your Boldest Self to Your Biggest Challenges (Little, Brown & Co.), has been published in 29 languages and is a New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publisher’s Weekly, and Globe & Mail best seller. As described in the NYT Book Review, “Presence feels at once concrete and inspiring, simple but ambitious--above all, truly powerful.” Her 2012 TED Talk, Your Body Language May Shape Who You Are, is the second-most watched in TED’s history, with over 46 million views. Using experimental and correlational methods, she studies the power of nonverbal behavior, prejudice and stereotyping, the delicate balance of trustworthiness and strength, the roles of purpose and authenticity in shaping people’s personal and professional wellbeing, and evidence-based tools that people can use to actively change their own thoughts, feelings, performance, and psychological and physical well-being. Her research has been published in top academic journals including Science and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and covered by the BBC, NPR, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Economist, Guardian, and more. Cuddy has been named a Game Changer by TIME, a Rising Star by the Association for Psychological Science, one of 50 Women Who Are Changing the World by Business Insider, and a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

Cuddy is currently writing a book about bravery, bullying, and bystanding. In early 2018, in partnership with the New Citizenship Project, she will launch a venture championing measures of societal and economic success and wellbeing.
